We visited the Mayne Island Japanese Garden in October and we were delighted to walk the site and enjoy the fall colors, flowering plants, and overall design.
Many of the trees were types that are featured in gardens Japan, all carefully pruned to shape.
A pond wound through the middle of the gardens with colorful foliage and flowering plants on every side.
A few plants were still flowering, all of which required our attention.
We hiked then trails and paddled the waters off the shoreline, but we were also delighted to explore and enjoy the gardens of the island.
Note – Most of the trees, shrubs, and flowering plants were imported, but were not labeled so identifications are not definitive.
