Denman Island Spring Wildflowers (2)
We stayed on Denman Island in the spring to explore the island, mostly by hiking, walking, kayaking, and exploring. Each day we would stop along the trails and routes to enjoy the spring wildflowers, flowering shrubs, and flowering trees that we encountered in this Pacific Northwest – Gulf Islands climate/ecosystem.
Some of the photos shared here include Pacific Trillium (Trillium ovatum), red-flowering currant (Ribes sanguineum), skunk cabbage (Lysichiton americanus), shortspur seablush (Plectritis congesta), common monkeyflower (Erythranthe guttata), Nuttall’s toothwort (Cardamine nuttallii), blue-eyed Mary (Collinsia parviflora), meadow popcornflower (Plagiobothrys scouleri), stork’s-bill (Erodium cicutarium), Arctic butterbur (Petistates frigida), salmonberry (Rubus spectabilis), plum blossom (Prunus sp.), redmaids (Calandrinia ciliata), gooseberry (Ribes sp.), cherry (Prunus sp.), and redstem spring-beauty (Claytonia rubra).
