Exploring BC’s Grasslands

Join us for an evening of grassland conversation on November 27 from 5:30 to 8:00 pm at the TRU Kamloops Campus as we explore why grasslands matter and how we can protect them. This mini-conference brings together leading experts to share their knowledge about grassland ecology, wildlife, education initiatives, and restoration work.
You’ll hear from:
Dr. Wendy Gardner on global and North American grasslands with a BC focus
Mike Dedels on accessible grassland areas and land use impacts
Kristi Gordon on GCC’s new educational curriculum and student projects
Dr. Nancy Flood on grassland wildlife and bird species in the Kamloops area
Jesse Ritcey on invasive species management and restoration effortsWhether you’re a student, community member, or conservation enthusiast, this event offers accessible insights into these essential ecosystems. Can’t make it in person? Virtual attendance is available!
The event is free, and refreshments will be provided. Student volunteer opportunities will also be shared at the end of the evening.
