Wildflowers on the Peterson Creek Rim Trails
A spring hike along the west rim, across the creek, back along the east rim, down into the canyon, and back up to the rim is a favorite hike, especially when the wildflowers are blooming along the way.
Rockcress (Boechera retrofacta) had been out for a while, but the stems were now taller, and more pendulant white flowers were awaiting pollintation.
Lemonweed (Lithospermum ruderale) had just started to flower, with pale yellow tube-like flowers at the base of upper linear leaves.
Along the way were many other varieties of wildflowers and flowering shrubs. Getting good photos requires good light, no wind, and a steady hand. Sometimes we just have to take a lot of images and only keep the good ones. Click and image for a lightbox view and a caption (ID).
