Wildflowers of the Hyas and Pemberton Lakes Area
On a day of paddling Hyas Lake and hiking in to Pemberton Lake, there were lots of wildflowers to enjoy.
On the shoreline of Pemberton Lake, marsh cinquefoil (Potentilla palustris) was flowering. Brooklime (Veronica americana sp.) with its tiny blue flowers was blooming next to wet areas. On the side of the tracks were cow parsnip (Heracleum lanatum sp.), sickletop lousewort (Pedicularis racemosa), and bunchberry (Cornus canadensis).

Fireweed (Epilobium angustifolium), pearly everlasting (Anaphalis margaritacea) , and western groundsel (Senecio integerrimus) were all abundant roadside.
Pollinators and their predators were as abundant as the wildflowers.
This is a favorite area to paddle and explore so I will be back again in the coming months.
