Walking on Campus
We stayed at UBC for a couple of days and did some walks, enjoying fall colors and many gardens along the walkways. A few photos were taken along the way.
Near the UBC Botanical gardens was a border with some scarlet lilies.
Nearby in another border were evening lilies.
A few pollinators were out on a mild and sunny day.
Most of the hollyhocks had long since shriveled, but there were still a few flowers in bloom.
We have been seeing yellow sneezeweed in bloom in our area, but this two-toned sneezeweed was attracting pollinators and our attention too.
In another border we enjoyed these pink campions.
None of these were found in the wild in our area, but all of them have wild counterparts in places that we hike and walk. In fall, we are lucky to have such beautiful gardens to enjoy when the wildflowers become sparse elsewhere.
It’s so mild down there. Beautiful photos and information, as usual! 😂 thanks! jan 🐦
