Tranquille River Ramble
We were on a video shoot with CFJC TV along the Tranquille River. These take some time so while waiting for some of the setups, I explored the various perennials, shrubs, and trees of the area.
There was a marsh area, rivershore riparian areas, some dry sagebrush open areas, and some forested sections, each hosting a variety of species.
We stopped to photograph sumac, poison ivy, white clematis, scouring rush, cattails, and golden rod. All photos taken by the author. Click an image for a lightbox view and a caption.
In other spots we stopped to inspect snowberry, goji berry, red ossier dogwood, and nightshade. A few lingering flowers were spotted in the last days before the killing frosts.
The main attraction was the display of color along the corridor, but the running river and the variety of plants made for a rewarding time by the river.
