Tower Hill Route
On a grey September day I hiked through Peterson Creek, then went steeply up to the top of Tower Hill. On the way back down, I looped to the east side and wound my way back down to the Park trails. Everything was dry along the route, but a few wildflowers and fruiting plants caught my attention.
Shared here are poison ivy berries (Rhus radicans sp.), rabbitbrush (Chrysothamnus nauseosus) in bloom, stephanomeria (a single plant), thistles (Cirsium arvense), and snowberries (Symphoricarpos albus). Click an image for a lightbox view and a caption/ID.
Whenever I take these types of photos, I try to get sharp close-ups. This takes a bit of work, but my “batting average” is higher now. I will share some of these techniques I use over the upcoming season.
