When we hike or paddle the lakes we often spot wildflowers in bloom and birds around the lakeshore. Many of the sightings from hikes are shared in posts on kamloopstrails.ca, but we also spot flora and fauna from the kayak, many of which are already shared on this website, but only from 2019 on. Over the winter is a good time to go over older photos, deleting some, resizing most, adjusting many, and tagging some for sharing on this website.
In 2017, I kayaked many days. In most years this ranges from 60 – 90 days. A few images from the lakeshore or in the shallows are shared here – soopalallie, sticky purple geranium (Geranium viscossisimum), bur-reed (Sparganium sp.), smartweed (Polygonum sp.), fireweed (Chamaenerion angustifolium), cinquefoil (Potentilla sp.), lemonweed (lithospermum ruderale), old man’s whiskers (Geum triflorum), and fern-leaved desert-parsley (Lomatium dissectum).

A few images of wildlife from 2017 are also shared – a cougar (Puma concolor), an opsrey (Pandion haliaetus), pelicans (Pelecanus onocrotalus), a western painted turtle (Chrysemys picta), and a loon chick (Gavia immer).
More posts from the period of 2013 – 2018 will be added to this website over winter months.
