Desert yellow fleabane (Erigeron linearis) is a perennial herb with bright yellow ray and disk flowers.
- This aster has a stout taproot root and branching stems.
- Basal leaves tend to be appressed (close, flat, and pointing upwards) and hairy. Stem leaves are few and similarly appressed.
- Many yellow ray and disk flowers bloom concurrently.
- In some of our drier locations, the colors are a bright yellow.

- After flowering, short and hairy achenes form with a fluffy pappus.
- Fleabane is pollinated by bees, butterflies, and others.
- It can be propagated by seed, by cuttings, or by root divisions.
- We often see desert yellow fleabane in sagebrush grasslands in late spring and in the summer.
- Other names include narrow-leaved fleabane, fine-leaved daisy, and linear-leaved daisy.
