Spring Wildflowers in the Tuscon Mountains
The Tuscon Range are Sonoran Desert mountains to the west of Tuscon. They are unforested, open, rocky at mid-elevation, populated with saguaro cactus. We drove into Saguoro National Park, then hiked on the King’s Canyon Trail (2500 feet to 3600 feet) in early March. Wildflowers were blooming everywhere.
Some of the images are shared here. Tentative identification is provided with captions, but this will be a work in progress, to learn a whole new set of plants of the southwest deserts. Click an image for a larger view and a caption.
A number of species are very similar so more generic terms are provided, but all captions can be edited so feedback is appreciated.

Hi Doug,
I think that you might also have Calycoseris wrightii, white tackstem, in there. It is very similar to desert chicory, Rafinesquia, but has many dark, tack-shaped , stalked glands on the upper stems.
Thanks, Paul. I had listed it as a possible id too. The one in bottom gallery.
