On the Monck Park Trails
At the end of September I hiked the trails in Monck Provincial Park, on the slopes above Nicola Lake. After a summer of drought, flowering plants were next to water, or were well-established shrubs or perennials flowering in season. A few plants were photographed for their berries, leaves, or growth pattern.
Spotted along the trail was a number of plants, including poison ivy (Rhus radicans toxicodendron sp.), goldenrod (Solidago canadensis), rabbit-brush (Chyrsothamnus nauseosus), stork’s-bill (erodium cicutarium), kinnikinik (Arctostaphylis uva-ursi), stephanomeria (S. tenuifolia), Canada thistle (Cirsium arvense), silverleaf phacelia (Phacelia hastata), and hoary pincushion (Chaenactis douglasii).

This was a very nice paddle and hike. Some fall color was a feature on this day too.
