On the Frisken Lake Route

At the end of the first week of August, I backpacked my way into the Roche Lake backcountry and paddled the lake using a folding kayak. I packed back out for a paddle-and hike-day to a infrequently visited lake. I took a few photos along the way, a few of which are shared here – rosehips (Rosa sp.), chicory (Cichorium intybus), blister beetle (Meloidae sp.) on hawksbeard (Crepis sp.), alfalfa (Medicago sativa), fireweed (Chamaenerion angustifolium), aspen fleabane (Erigeron speciosus), and bumblebees (Bombus sp.) on Canada thistles (Cirsium arvense).
