On the Deep Lake Trail
We hiked for 7.2 km on the Deep Lake Trails on the first day of May and enjoyed nature along the way, stopping to take some photos, a few of which are shared here. Upland larkspur was starting to flower.
We spotted one death camas starting to flower.
Woodland stars were abundant in the grasslands.
We also spotted ducks, turkey vultures, a swan, a muskrat and various birds along the way.
On the shores of Deep Lake, saskatoons were in bloom.
Hiking in spring brings many rewards so we get out as often as we can to enjoy nature’s bounty.
