On Dewdrop Ridge
The open slopes of Dewdrop Ridge invite us to hike the 1 km route up the ridge. A few wind-blown trees can be found near the top of the ridge.
On the lower slopes were sagebrush buttercups, yellow bells, and rockcress in bloom. Emerging were early saxifrage (S. miniatus), death-camus (Zigadenus venenosus), alumroot (Heucheara sp.), and old man’s whiskers (Geum triflorum). A few images are shared here. A grass fire charred many trees a few years ago. The understory has grown back in, but a few black snags still stand.
