Niskonlith Meadows in April
Wildflowers were blooming Just off the side of the road, some of them seldom seen at this elevation in our region. The star of the display was yellow glacier lily (Erythronium grandiflorum). All photos by the author on an April day. Click an image for a lightbox view and a caption.
Also in bloom, though only a few were found were yellow bells (Fritillaria pudica), western spring beauty (Claytonia lanceolata), and long bluebells (Mertensia longiflora).

One of the best lower locations that I know of. Later comes the geum, the shooting stars, and the delphinium, etc. What a treasure of a place! And the Balzimorisa on the way up! Thanks for the memories, jan-a-birdman!🌻💐⚘🦆🐸🐞
