Destination Nature Hikes
I hike almost every day and will continue to do so for as long as I can, but there will also be some dedicated nature hikes. Some are listed here.
- The Bitterroot bloom – a site near Ashcroft – Red Hill – Venables Valley near the May long weekend. Date to be chosen in May. I may do another hike in the area since this is a shorter hike. Article – Red Hill Ramble
- Early Trophy Mountains – an early hike into Trophy Meadows for the early wildflower bloom. An all day event since it is a longer drive. High clearance vehicle recommended. The date to be chosen in early June. A second hike in summer is planned too. Article – Trophy Meadows in June
- Early Tod Mountain Nature Hike – a chairlift ride then a hike to witness the emergence of early wildflowers. A shorter hike day in late June. There will be another hike to the summit later in the season. Article – Tod Mountain in July
- Neskonlith Area Nature Walk – a shorter hike in the Neskonlith Lake area to see the emergence of spring wildflowers (usually mid-April) – will be combined with another hike or paddle. Article – Niskonlith Meadows in Early June
- Mt. Thynne Nature Hike – a hike through the alpine meadows of Mt. Thynne (south of Brookmere) in late June. A very fine hike and nature exploration. Article – Hiking Mt. Thynne
- Marble Range Hike – a hike onto the alpine karst meadows in the Marble Range, west of Clinton. Late June – early July. Article – In the Marble Range
- Coquihalla Summit hike – a peak in the Coquihalla Summit in July (more difficult hiking). Article – On the Zupjok Peak Trail
- Denman and Hornby Islands in April – Helliwell Park Wildflowers
- There will be dozens of local hikes too. Many are featured in past posts on this website.
