A Middle Grasslands Stroll in the Rain
I hiked through the upper grasslands on a wet day then on the way down, I parked at the Middle Grasslands trailhead and hiked for a while, but the rain came back so it was only a short walk.
Lemonweed was abundant. It can be a weedy plant, but the small yellow flowers are beautiful.
Meadow death camas was emerging, attractive, but poisonous.
Small and delicate field chickweed flowers will soon be overwhelmed by grasses, alfalfa, and sweet clover.
A few dangling suncress/rockcress plants were still in bloom with their small pendant white flowers.
A few photos, then a dash for the truck made this walk a short one, but I will be back another day.
