Neskonlith Meadows Wildflowers
On the way back from Neskonlith Lake, I stopped alongside the road to enjoy the wildflowers of the meadows. Yellow glacier lilies (erythronium grandiflorum) were abundant.

In the same area, long flowered bluebells (mertenisa longiflora) were emerging:

Western Spring beauties (claytonia lnaceolata) can be spotted over a wide range of habitats over the spring season.
and
Few-Flowered Shooting stars (dodecatheon pulchellium) were just starting to flower.
and
This is one of the most rewarding areas for early spring wildflowers of our area. We will be back there again next month.
Doug, I love it up there! When I lived in the Chase area for 13 years, I was up there lots. That mertensia is one of my favorites! I’ve never found it anywhere else. Have you seen it in the Kamloops area? I enjoy these posts and photos very much! Thanks, jan-a-birdman.
