In the Sagebrush Lower Grasslands
As the hills dry out, we hike through on trails and across slopes in the lower grasslands. A few early wildflowers can be spotted, especially sagebrush buttercups (Ranunculus glabberrimus) and yellow bells (Fritillaria pudica). These photos were taken in March by the author.
Also emerging early are shrubs and forbs, set to flower later in spring. All photos by the author, click an image for a lightbox view and caption.
