Denman Wildflowers
We hiked Denman Island in April and enjoyed the forested trails and shorelines. There are many trails, well worth a week or two of hiking. In spring there are many emerging plants, flowering shrubs, and wildflowers to enjoy.
A few are shared here – shortspur seablush (Plectritis congesta), Oregon grape (Mahonia aquifolia), chocolate lily (Fritillaria lanceolata), bluebells (Hyacinthoides sp.), Scotch broom (Cytisus scoparius), chickweed (Cerastium arvense), death camas (Zigadenus venosus), Menzies larkspur (Delphinium menziesii), azalea (Rhododendron sp.), seep monkeyflower (Erythranthe guttata), and manzanita (Arctostaphylos sp.)

We hope to return to one of the Gulf Islands to hike and explore next spring.
