At Ross Moore Lake
It is a long drive on backroads out to Ross Moore Lake, but if the conditions are right, it is worth a half day out and back to paddle the lake and explore the area. I paddled around the lake, then explored along the lakeshore.
Marsh skullcap was fully in bloom close to the water. We have even seen it growing on waterlogged logs. Click an image for a lightbox view and a caption.
Also spotted was a pinkish Yarrow (Achillea millefoilium) , Yellow Water-lilies (Nuphar polysepalum sp), Pearly Everlasting (Anaphalis margaritacea), and Water Parsnip (Sium suave). (I am never sure about water parsnip and water hemlock so I leave them alone).
