A Day in the Wildflower Meadows – April 16, 2016
There are a few days of hiking or walking in the right place at the right time of the year that we can experience a full wildflower experience. The day was April 08, 2016 and the place was the Neskonlith Meadows. Before that date each year the glacier lilies are more widespread and after about that date other species take over.
There were still lots of yellow glacier/avalanche lilies to be seen.
Information on yellow glacier lilies.
The other stars of the day were long bluebells (mertensia longiflora).
Info on mertenia longiflora.
Western spring beauties (claytonia lanceolata) graced the hillside.
